Hi Adam,
I'm a supervisor with Nextdoor Support and I will be taking over your case. Thank you for reaching back out to us.
Since it was not explained to you why your account was placed on "Read Only" status, I've reinstated your full access to the platform. I apologize for any confusion this oversight may have caused.
However, I do want to provide some clarity surrounding this decision. As Chase mentioned in your previous conversation with them, your account has been found to be in violation of our Community Guidelines prohibiting neighbors from spamming their general newsfeed. I will include here some examples of posts that qualified as such:
Ghosting is wrong.
Ghosting is cowardice. 2. Cowardice is wrong. 3. ∴ Ghosting is wrong.
Should the WORD 'ghosting' entail cowardice BY DEFINITION or not?
When is retreat not cowardice?
We need new cultural norms against ghosting and they must be established via [public] debate otherwise we will not have tested the ideas.
In our ancestral environment, ghosting was impossible.
What do ghosting and not voting have in common?
What do ghosting and lying have in common? (this was posted twice)
All of these posts, and several others in this same vein, were posted within a week to your general newsfeed. Our spam guidelines prohibit repeatedly posting the same or similar content. Going forward I would advise you to either create a Nextdoor Group (I will leave an article with instruction on how to do so below) for such content or else limit these posts to once or twice a week.
How to Create and Edit a Group
If there's anything else you need help with, please let us know. I hope you have a nice weekend.
Best,
Jac

Hi Adam,
Thanks for your reply.
The posts I outlined in my response (and others in the same vein) were removed from your profile for being in violation of our Spam guidelines. They haven't been reinstated along with your account access for this reason.
Regardless of wording, if your posts are about the same or similar topics, you will continue to be in violation of these guidelines. If you were to take the suggestion of starting a Nextdoor Group, your posts wouldn't be limited in this capacity. However, your content will continue to be flagged as spam if you post similar content more than once or twice a week on your general newsfeed.
Best,
Jac

No there is a lot of OTHER content missing, as in EVERYTHING since october 10th. Are they considered about the same topic if they don't use the word? What determines when two posts are on the same topic? Is it determined by common words by an algorithm? Please define 'similar'. How frequently can someone post 'different' content? Is the frequency a function of the degree of difference?

Hi Adam,
For further clarification, posting just photos of quotes or infographics is going to be flagged as spam as well. Another part of our Spam guidelines prohibits posting unoriginal/templated content with no personalization or original commentary. This would include posting quotes like "Communicating via silence is a trauma response. Recovery means rediscovering your voice" and "If the truth is a plague let it spread".
All of your recent content was found to be in violation and will not be reinstated. I strongly advised creating a Nextdoor group in order to bypass this problem going forward.
Best,
Jac

Hi Adam,
I appreciate the fact that you are creating these images on your own. However, they are in violation of our spam guidelines. In order to keep them from being removed and your account from being disabled or placed on Read Only again, I would advise limiting this content to once or twice per week or creating a Nextdoor Group. So there is no further confusion about what these guidelines entail I will be including all relevant information below.
Spam is generally defined as unwanted, unsolicited, and/or repeated actions that negatively affect neighbors and the Nextdoor community. This may include but is not limited to
Sending large amounts of private messages to users who are not expecting them
Contacting people with unwanted content or requests
Repeatedly posting the same or similar content
Posting unoriginal/templated content with no personalization or original commentary
( you can find this information here: Spam Guidelines)
You can find further information regarding these guidelines here - Community Guidelines Updates - August 2022.
If there's anything else you need help with, please let us know. Enjoy the rest of your weekend.
Best,
Jac

LImiting what content to once or twice per week? What counts as different content? If I post an image on a different topic that is not spam, as long as it is original content, yes? Am I understanding you? What is the definition of "the same or similar content"? Do you have an algorithm that computes similarity or is it a subjective judgment? By whom?
Hi Adam. It was through subscribing to you via email, that I learned about Nextdoor. Did not know it existed. Enjoy your letters each week. Cheers 🍻
