[I recently started a group chat for volunteers in the race for Ward 11, if you like this pep talk please volunteer.adamgolding.ca]
Hi folks, if you're in this chat it's because you've already helped me with my race for ward 11 or have indicated a willingness to do so at some point -- the volunteer form is now live:
http://volunteer.adamgolding.ca
THANK YOU FOR HELPING ME FIX THIS CITY'S BROKEN RULES This form lets me track which tasks need more volunteers and to provide detailed references in the future -- it lets you select one task at a time so if you want to work on two tasks just fill out the form twice -- if you find yourself spending more than 2 hours weekly on this campaign focus on volunteer recruitment past that -- don't try to take on many hours when what we need is more volunteers who will also be voters, not to burn out our starting team
This is similar to the limit in
which corresponds to one of tasks listed on the volunteer form... Please introduce yourselves! Participation in this thread is not a requirement to volunteer and you are free to leave at any time but this is where I respond the fastest and where we can share information and also stay on top of online events in real-time. The current week's public events in unirose (Ward 11) will always be listed on adamgolding.substack.com and linked to from http://adamgolding.ca
The fastest way to reach me is via this chat or via text on signal: 6479092109 This is intended as a political campaign driven by organizing cultural events so first off just try to to have fun! Volunteer meetings and much organization can happen in a social context such as at my weekly open mic which doubles as a campaign office: http://fb.me/beyondbside As you will see on the form I offer free training on many of the tasks including canvassing, phone fundraising, political argument, and tech support etc. I can also trade piano lessons for volunteer hours -- this is a promotion you can mention to anyone who might be interested
CONGRATULATIONS ON GETTING IN ON THE GROUND FLOOR OF WHAT MAY BE A LANDMARK VICTORY -- With Layton suddenly dropping out, and a 14 (now 13) -way race on our hands, victory for the socialist alliance in Ward 11 is within reach -- I have better odds than Tory's challengers do against him and better odds than the rest of the socialist alliance. The main opposition is https://twitter.com/normsworld with 11.6K followers and Layton's endorsement -- so follow http://twitter.com/adamgolding and don't mention him if no one does, but when he does come up I recommend calling him "Normal Norman" and emphasizing that adamgolding.ca is the only real protest vote in Ward 11 -- Norm has not said how he will do anything different from his predecessor, the same is true of Robin "Butts-In" Potts who won't do anything different from Wong-Tam who she filled in for in ward 13 while promising she wouldn't run in this election before butting in over here in Ward 11...

I will be doing a lot of mainstreeting as well, just handing out flyers on the street, if you have a good time slot to meet up with me for an hour or two to do this and then go for coffee or whatever just let me know! Excited to work with you all and future volunteers we bring to this team. I assure you your efforts will not be wasted, we are already shifting the conversation in this election via the socialist alliance toward more progressive policies. For those who missed it, the latest interviews for the campaign are:
