If life weren’t meaningless in the sense that some lives were more meaningful than others, these differences would be used to support eugenics — in the sick rhetoric of its proponents. Thus, in the best of all possible worlds, life would have no such comparative meaning: all lives would be equally meaningful. And so they are.
