Is World Peace Possible?
Without Radical Honesty?
Some believe in world peace -- that a time with no war is possible.
Far fewer believe in world honesty -- that a time with no lies is possible.
And yet, the one requires the other, because dishonesty is warfare. He who lies first, strikes first, and there is no peaceful way to deceive someone.
This wide discrepancy points to a pervasive inconsistency: How can we be working towards world peace without endorsing the most radical and chaotic forms of honesty imaginable?
With selective honesty, world peace is not possible. With radical honesty, your personal safety is not guaranteed. So, if the reason you wanted world peace was for your personal safety, you’re barking up the wrong tree and you've got another thing coming. Get back to us when you want world peace more than safety for yourself.
So, is world peace possible? Not if you tell a single lie, motherfucker! Sacrifice yourself to the collective with sacrificial, blind honesty: do not tell the truth tactically, or work backwards from a goal -- the most aimless are the most honest. Goals are our undoing. (See 'Goodhart's Law')
Tell literally any truth to anyone who will listen; the consequences be damned.
