Barbara Gray, Give The Churchyard To The Church! [PETITION]
Rescue Christmas from the NIMBYs...
[RESPONSE:
]
I've added Barbara Gray to this thread, who I believe has the authority to GIVE THE CHURCHYARD TO THE CHURCH in time for Christmas @ 103 Bellevue, out of respect for this religion's right to oversee its holy grounds as it has for 150 years.
Barbara please consider these two petitions--the more popular petition makes harder demands but my ask of you is surgical:
[1] Petition · GIVE THE CHURCHYARD TO THE CHURCH · Change.org
[2]Â No Homeless Evictions (openletter.earth)
Barbara, before I made the first petition above, I was in a 15-hour standoff with Police and City Workers, to preserve this holy site and religious autonomy.
(The value judgments in choosing to risk to care for the vulnerable are a matter of religious freedom, not a matter of one-size-fits-all public policy for all faiths, nor do secular appeals to 'safety' resolve how to balance this risk without faith.)
This 15-hour standoff was not how I wanted to spend my day, but it's how many spent their day, risking arrest in the cold, because the moral truth was obvious on the ground.
And indeed since then I’ve dug up documents (attached) that say such things as that the boundaries are 'established by convention' and that the heritage site begins at the SE corner of the street intersection. But there is no time to waste as Christmas is fast approaching and legal appeal will take too much time. You alone may have the power to reverse course this year and rescue Christmas from the NIMBYs.
Please transfer any claim your department may or may not have to this land to the church of St. Stephen’s-in-the-fields immediately, and permanently, both formally and using any soft power at your disposal.  I have written religious groups to call on them to help Mother Maggie, and will seek a meeting with Saxe's Rabbi, but you are our best, most direct hope this season.
Merry Christmas,
Adam Golding

This woman refused to answer simple questions from concerned members of the public, would not state whether she knew the human rights precedent set in Waterloo (it's her job to know this) and simply put was rude to me, treating me in a dehumanizing manner:
She acted as if speaking to me was beneath her and that my earnest questions could not possibly deserve an answer. She later insulted me saying "I feel like I'm talking to an AI" instead of dignifying anything addressed to her with a response -- neither did she ask not to speak to me, although I believe she is morally obligated to take questions from the public in this situation.
For this disrespect, immaturity, and irresponsibility I am filing a formal complaint. How do I ensure this staff member is disciplined? I heard complaints about them in particular when I arrived on scene.

I can solve this problem for you if this church has a worthy Epistemologist.
